I recently visited Nashville, Tennessee for the first time and wow did I love it there. Before I went, I had pretty high expectations because everyone always talks about how amazing it is. So, when I finally got there, I was nervous that I set my expectations too high. Even with my expectations set high, they were exceeded. I loved everything about the city and truly didn’t want to leave. If you ever have the chance to visit, you absolutely should. Here is why I’m in love with the music city.
Why I’m in Love with Nashville
1. Live music, all day every day
I absolutely love live music and Nashville has live music in pretty much all of their restaurants and bars which I think is amazing. When you walk down Broadway, which is pretty much the main strip in Nashville you can hear music coming from every which way. All of the restaurants also have wide open windows, so you can see and hear the musicians playing inside. I wish everywhere had live music like Nashville.
2. Country music
I personally love country music and listen to it all the time, so I loved the country music playing everywhere. If you don’t like country music, you probably are going to by the time you leave Nashville!
3. Cowboy hats
Hats are one of my favorite accessories, so I knew that I wanted to buy a cowboy hat in Nashville. Let me tell ya, trying to find that special one that you are going to buy is quite the task. There are shops selling hats all over the place and they all have different designs and styles. So, it may take some trial and error to find the one, but I highly recommend getting one and wearing it around proud.
4. Y’all
Not much to say here, I just love the southern dialect, southern charm, and the southern accent.
5. The Grand Ole Opry
I’m going to be honest with you all here, I wasn’t super pumped about the Grand Ole Opry and thought it might get a little boring. I was very wrong. It ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip. We saw so many amazing singers including the group who sang Woody’s Roundup in Toy Story. To make it even better, that group even yodeled which I thought was very entertaining. Everyone who sang was so talented and there was even a comedian who was hilarious. This place was amazing and I would go back again for sure. There’s also a giant mall right next to The Grand Ole Opry if you want to do some shopping.
6. Insta worthy murals
If you venture a little bit further outside the Broadway area of the city, there are tons of really pretty murals to take photos. A really famous one that I see all over my Instagram feed is the “I Believe in Nashville” mural which is located at 2702 12th Ave. Another popular one, “Looking Pretty, Music City,” is located right near the “I Believe in Nashville” mural at 2709 12th Ave.
7. Everyone having a good time
Everyone in Nashville just looks like they are having a great time. Whether it be friends, families, couples, a bachelorette party (there are a ton of those), everyone just looks so happy and like they are really enjoying themselves.
8. Endless restaurants and honky tonks to choose from
There are honkey tonks (or bars) and restaurants everywhere you go and there are so many different ones to choose from. I really wanted to go to Luke’s 32 Bridge which is Luke Bryan’s bar and I loved it. They had really great live music and lots of good food and drink options. Luke Bryan was in town for his concert when we were in Nashville and the upper levels of his restaurant was closed when we went. I am still convinced that he was upstairs when we were there.
There are so many reasons to love Nashville and if you ever get the chance to go, you absolutely should. There is so much to see and to do. I can’t wait to go back soon and explore even more of the city.

Ashlyn
