5 Tips for your Nighttime Routine

5 Tips for your Nighttime Routine

For today’s blog, I wanted to share some tips that I have when getting ready for bed. I briefly touched on what my nighttime routine was in my “A Day in the Life: College Edition blog.” If you haven’t read that post yet and want to, click here. In this blog, I share I few of the products that I use before I go to bed. I hope you enjoy!

Tip#1: Washing your Face

It’s so important to wash your face every night! One product that I use every single day when I wash my face at night is Cetaphil. I have been using Cetaphil for a couple years now and I love it. I have really sensitive skin, so my skin negatively reacts to a lot of face washes that I have used in the past, but Cetaphil works great with my skin. After using it, my face feels really soft and clean. There isn’t really a smell to it, so if you like a face wash that has a scent, this probably isn’t the best choice for you. But, if you have really sensitive skin like me, I would recommend trying out this product.

Tip #2: Self Care

One thing I like to do for self care is a face mask or something like that. One product I really love are the Biore Charcoal Pore Strips. I started using these a couple of months ago and I really like them. I usually use them about once a week and I think they work really well. Basically, it is just a strip that you place on the bridge of your nose. You first have to wet your nose, stick it on and wait about 15 minutes. When it is ready to take off, it will feel a little bit harder. When the 15 minutes is up, you simply peel it off and throw it away. What it does is gets rid of any dirt, excess oil and blackheads. I like to do this at night after I wash my face.

There are a few different kinds of these. The only ones I have tried are the charcoal ones, but I would be interested to try the other ones. There is a 6 pack at Target for $5.99 if you just want to try it. If you like it, they have larger packs that you can get. I’m going to link the 6 pack here.

Tip #3: Fuzzy Socks are the Best Socks

I love to wear my fuzzy socks at night! They are so soft and comfortable! I have so many pairs of fuzzy socks and they are great. They’re the best in the winter so your feet aren’t cold.

I found a 2 pack at Target that I linked here.

Tip #4: Tea Time

I usually like to drink tea before I go to bed. I have been doing this for a while and it makes me feel like it’s almost time for bed. There are a few brands of tea that I really like. One is Bigelow Green Tea with Peach. This one is so good and I really like the flavor. The second is by the same brand (Bigelow) and its called Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea. This tea contains chamomile and mint so it is really good to have before the bed. The last one that I really like is Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile. I have a whole box of this one and drink it all the time. Also, remember if you are drinking it at night to get the caffeine free version!

Sweet Dreams Tea: At Walmart for $6.84
Peach Tea: At Walmart for $9.92
Honey Vanilla Chamomile Tea: At Walmart for $2.37

Tip #5: Start Early

Start your nighttime routine early if you can. I try to have all my work done by a certain time every night, so that I have time to relax before going to bed. This is time where I can read, watch TV or plan out what I am doing the next day.
