I love hot chocolate. I’m not a big coffee drinker, so hot chocolate is my go to drink in the winter. I always like going to Dunkin Donuts or other cafes to get hot chocolate because I love the flavors that they use. But, buying drinks all the time really adds up quick. This made me wonder, what if there was a way to make flavored hot chocolate at home. I found a way.
My first thought was to go to Pinterest and look for different ways to flavor hot chocolate. There were a lot of really great ideas on there, but most of them required a stove to melt different ingredients. I would love to try these recipes too, but most of the time, I live at school so I don’t have easy access to a stove. Then, I started thinking about ways I could flavor my hot chocolate without needing the stove. The first thing I thought of was coffee creamer. I thought, if it works to flavor coffee, why wouldn’t it work in hot chocolate. Here’s what happened.
I got two different types of creamer to try. I got International Delight Caramel Macchato and I also got Coffee mate Peppermint Mocha to make it a little more festive. I just used Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate packets and used water to mix it with. I made the hot chocolate and stirred in just a little bit of creamer. I was very impressed with the results.
I honestly didn’t think this was going to taste good, but it ended up being so yummy. I liked them both, but my favorite was the Peppermint Mocha flavor. This was so easy and made the hot chocolate just a little bit different and more flavorful. Plus, there’s so many different kinds of creamer so you can try all different ones and see which ones you like best.
I would definitely recommend trying to put flavored creamer in your hot chocolate if you want to change up the normal taste. It was so easy, and something you can do right from home.
