Bringing a Little Bit of Disney Home

Bringing a Little Bit of Disney Home

Hey, hey! You may, or may not have seen that Disneyland put out a recipe for the churros that they make in the park. I actually saw a lot of Tik Toks trying this recipe and they looked pretty good. So, I wanted to try them out for myself. Here are the results.

The ingredients for the churros are super simple. You’re going to need 1 cup water, 8 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 1/4 cups of flour, 3 eggs, 1 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and lastly, 1/2 cup of sugar.

Once you’ve got all of your ingredients, combine 1 cup of water, 1 stick of butter, 1/4 tablespoons of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon into a saucepan. Then, put the saucepan over medium heat and wait for it to boil. Once it boils, reduce the heat to low.

Then, add 1 1/4 cups of flour to the water/butter mix. Stir until it looks something like this picture. When it does, take it off the heat and let it sit for about 5 minutes.

The next step is to add the 3 eggs, one at a time, to the dough.

This is what the dough should look like after you’ve mixed in the 3 eggs.

Now it’s time to heat up your oil. It took around 5 minutes on medium heat to get hot enough.

While you are waiting for your oil to heat up, this is a good time to mix together the cinnamon and sugar mix you use to cover the churros. All this is is 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.

This next part is easiest to do with two people. Fill a piping bag with the dough and have one person hold it over the oil. Then, squeeze the bag and when the churro is a good “bite size,” the other person can cut it with scissors. You’re going to want to leave them in the oil until they are golden brown and a crunchy consistency. This takes around 5-8 minutes. Keep an eye on them because they’re going to be done fast!

Once they are done, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture that you made earlier. And that’s all there is to it! We also dipped them in chocolate sauce which made them even better.

That’s it! These were super easy to make and I was able to make A LOT of them with this recipe. My family and I ate them really fast. I would highly recommend and would make them again. Thanks Disney for releasing this recipe!!
