Deck the Halls: Your Holiday Decorating Guide

Deck the Halls: Your Holiday Decorating Guide

Today, I finally took down my fall decorations and brought out the Christmas decorations. I have some new stuff this year and also some stuff from past years. All of the things I have a pretty inexpensive and look really cute in my room.

First things first, you have to hang up some Christmas lights. You can get these pretty much anywhere. I got mine at Walgreens for $6. I like to get the multicolored ones but that is just my preference. I hung them around my windowsill with little command hooks and they are holding up so far.

Staying on the topic of lights, I also have a mini Christmas Tree that lights up different colors. It goes really well with the multicolored lights. I got the tree a few years ago from Walmart. I did find a link to one that looks pretty identical that I will link here. This is one of my favorite decorations and one that my friends notice when they come in my room. It’s only $25, and I have had mine for at least 4 years. All the lights still work and it looks brand new every year.

So now that our rooms are nice and bright, lets move on to another important step in decorating. I don’t know about you, but I love when my room smells like Christmas. I got a candle from Marshalls that is really big, super cute and smells so good. I think candles are a must because they are a decoration and make your room really smell great too.

This candle was only $7!

Little Christmas trees are such awesome decorations. I got a silver one last year from Target that was $3 I believe and I got a new reddish color one this year from Walgreens that was also $3. These are great to just put around your room or your house.

Some other things I have that are great to put on shelves around the house or your room are a fake gingerbread house, a light up Santa, a snowman and a snow globe. I believe I got the gingerbread house at Target and the light up Santa, snowman and snow globe from the dollar store. Growing up, my Mom used to put snow globes on each step of our stairs, so I wanted to get one of my own when I want to school. The other decorations are really cute and just fun things for my room.

Only $1!!!
I love this gingerbread house! Don’t worry, I made a real one too. Stay tuned for Sunday’s blog.
This Santa lights up and says “Merry Christmas.”
I put these 3 decorations next to each other on my shelf. I put the gingerbread house on my bookshelf.

Another Dollar Store find from last year was a giant Santa hat for the back of a chair. This is another thing I had at my house growing up, and I wanted to get something similar for school. Another thing I got for my desk is little snowmen chocolates that I got at Marshalls.

Last but not least, I got a couple things to hang on my wall. Last year, I got a winter sign for my wall that says “Welcome” at the Dollar Store. This year, I also got 3 mini stockings from Walgreens that I hung under the sign. I love it!
