So, I know that I was very interested in what Halloween was going to look like this year. I had no idea if people were going to dress up, or if kids were going to go trick or treating. I walked around with my two little cousins this Halloween to see how creative people were getting in order to stay safe this spooky season. Here’s what I found.
I pretty much came to 2 big conclusions.
1. Not as many kids Trick or Treated as usual
My street usually has a lot of Trick or Treaters. Last year for example, we had right around 80 trick or treaters. This year, we had about 10. Even when I was out with my cousins, I didn’t see very many other kids around. This could have just been on my street, but even when I was just driving around earlier in the evening, I didn’t see many people.
2. People got super creative about giving out candy
I saw so many really creative ways that people were handing out candy this year. One popular way was setting up a table in front of the house with candy laid out so that kids could just grab a piece. A lot of people monitored from the inside and refilled the table when they needed to. Another thing I saw of was people giving kids little bags filled with candy so each kid could just take a bag. I took some pictures of my favorite set ups.
Here are some of the little bags of candy people were handing out this year. I thought this was a really cute idea.
I think that people did a really great job this year of making the best of a situation. I am glad that there were still kids celebrating Halloween because days like that bring some sense of normalcy back to our lives.
Thank you so much for reading today’s blog. I’ve talked about this before, but staying consistent with school in full swing is definitely a big challenge, but I am working on being better with it. In a couple months, I’ll have a break from school so I can focus on the blog!
Signed,
Ashlyn
p.s. I just booked an extremely exciting trip that is happening in a few months and I cannot wait to blog and vlog about it! I already have so many ideas.
