I went on a trip to Universal Studios in Florida and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. This was my first time staying at a resort on Universal’s property and it was a great experience.
The room we stayed in was called the Rock Star Suite. This room had two separate bedrooms with two connecting bathrooms. The first bedroom had a California King size bed and also had an area with a TV and a couch with a pull out bed. The kids room had two twin size beds and a lot of cool features in the room such as sparkling lights on the ceiling, spotlights and there was a blazer on display that belonged to Lady Gaga. This hotel had a lot of displays that made it unique and unlike anywhere else I have ever stayed.
Apart from the rooms, the Hard Rock Hotel had a huge pool and outdoor area. At the pool, there was a small stage where the staff held different competitions for guests to participate in. Music played all day at the pool and there were even speakers underwater so you could hear music wherever you were. Right by the pool, there is a restaurant that had a lot of different options.
Staying at the Hard Rock Hotel had lots of features and perks that made it different than staying at other hotels. One perk we got was early admission to Universal parks. This allows you to get into the park an hour before everyone else. Another perk of staying at the Hard Rock Hotel is getting free express passes at Universal parks. These passes allow you to skip a large majority of the line for rides. For us, these passes cut our wait time in half for most attractions. For most popular rides, we only waited about 20 minutes. I think these passes are a huge benefit when going to the park because you are able to go on more rides in less time. Also, the passes that we got were unlimited so we were able to go on rides as many times as we wanted.
The last huge perk I want to talk about is the convenience of staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. There were so many ways to get to the park from the hotel. There were free ferries that took us to the park in only about 5 minutes and they ran all day. They also provided shuttles to get to the park which also ran all day. Lastly, there was a walking path that only took about 5-10 minutes to get to the park. One tip I found was if you use the ferry, you have to go through a metal detector before boarding and it drops you off right at the ticket gate so you don’t have to go through the metal detector again. This may save you time if there’s a long line at the park.
I overall really enjoyed my time at the Hard Rock Hotel and I would love to visit there again. The perks and convenience of staying at this hotel made it a great experience for both me and my family.
