Making Mornings Easy

Making Mornings Easy

Read this blog for some tips and tricks on how to make your mornings a breeze.

Set One Alarm

I used to set multiple alarms, starting a long time before I had to get up. That made me stay in bed through all the alarms and I would end up sleeping even longer. For example, if you need to get up at 8am, don’t set alarms starting at 7am, then another at 7:10, then 7:20 and so on. If you need to get up at 8am, set your alarm for 8am. This way, you know when that alarm goes off, there’s no time to hit snooze, it’s time to get up.

Don’t do this!
Instead, do this!

Wake Up with Positivity

In the morning, I have a playlist that I listen to, or I listen to records. I find that listening to music makes me feel more awake and ready for the day. My sister got me the record player pictured below last year and I love it. It plays records really well and also connects to my phone through Bluetooth so I can listen to my playlist as well. Another thing I do is read a new quote every morning. I have a quote box that I got as a gift that has hundreds of quotes inside. Every morning, I read a new quote and it adds positivity to my morning.

Make Time for You

Don’t rush through your morning! Take time to wake up and take time for yourself. One thing I find really helpful in the morning is to take a minute to write down your plan for the day. Write down some things that you want to accomplish. This helps you organize your day and making a plan sets you up for a productive day.

Water your Plants, Make your Bed

I know what you’re thinking. What do plants have to do with getting ready in the morning. I have two plants in my room that I water every morning when I get up. I feel like the routine of getting up and doing something as simple as watering plants makes you feel productive. The same thing goes for making your bed. If you do these two things in the morning when you wake up, you’ve already done two productive tasks before you walk out the door.

The first plant is an aloe plant and the second is a succulent. They are both really easy to take care of.

Make Time for Breakfast

Don’t skip breakfast! It’s important to eat in the morning to get yourself through the day. One thing I like for breakfast is buying boxes of different kids of cereal. This way, I don’t get bored with the same kind every morning. Another easy breakfast is yogurt with granola. Similar to the cereal, I get different kinds of yogurt. Eggs and fruit are another great option. You can cut up the fruit the day before, and if you like hard boiled eggs, you can make those the night before too so you are ready to go in the morning. Lastly, smoothies are another great option in the morning and you can take them on the go.

Plan your Outfit

Sometimes, picking your outfit takes up a large part of the morning. Do this the night before. That way, you don’t need to worry about picking clothes in the morning, you can be dressed in 30 seconds.

Get dressed faster!

Hair=Hastle

Doing your hair in the morning is a struggle. One tip I have found is if you want to curl or straighten your hair, do that the night before and just fix it up in the morning. I have a lot of under 5 minute morning hair styles that will be coming in a blog soon.

Make Your Mornings Meaningful

You got this! Make your morning count. After all, it is the start of your whole day. Better mornings lead to better days!

Ashlyn
