Thanksgiving Blog

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today was a great day that I got to spend with my family. I tried a few different, really easy recipes this year that came out really well so I wanted to share them with you!

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a must at Thanksgiving. They are one of my favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving, so I was a little bit nervous about trying a new recipe because I didn’t want to mess up something so important! I found a recipe on Pinterest for mashed potatoes and they were a hit.

The main ingredients in this recipe were butter, sour cream, heavy cream and garlic. Some things to keep in mind are that this recipe makes the potatoes really creamy, so if you don’t like them that way, this may not be the recipe for you. When I added the heavy cream, I got nervous because it looked really thin, so next time, I may put in less heavy cream but they came out great either way. I also din’t have garlic cloves so I used minced garlic instead and that worked well. I will link the recipe for the mashed potatoes here.

Corn

Okay, so personally, I think corn is pretty boring and most years, I don’t eat it. This year, I found a super easy recipe that made the corn so much better. All you have to do is add butter, garlic powder, parmesan cheese and cream cheese. The corn was so yummy and was super fast to make. I also found this recipe on Pinterest and I will link it here. These two recipes are also ones that you can use for Christmas!

Turkey

I cannot take credit for this one, but my dad made a delicious turkey this year. I’m usually not a huge fan of turkey, but this one was delicious. I will link the recipe that he used here.

So yummy!

Outfit

This year, my sister did my makeup and I wore a sweater from American Eagle with a black jean dress underneath. I wore a pair of knee high boots with it.

After we ate, we went for a walk which we do every year. Then, my sister and I got Just Dance 2020 a couple of days ago so we all played that after dessert. I think its really fun to play and the songs are all really recent. It was $30 at Walmart which I thought was a reasonable price.

One last thing I wanted to share on this blog is these really cute to go containers my mom got at Marshall’s. They are a perfect size and make it really easy for everyone to take home leftovers.

Big thanks to my sister Paige for modeling with the leftover bags.

Thanksgiving was great this year and filled with lots of memories and yummy food. Now, Thanksgiving is over, and we count down the hours until Black Friday shopping begins. A blog about Black Friday will be coming out within the next couple of days. Lastly, I am so Thankful that I am able to write every week on this blog and share my life with you all. I have so much fun with it and love watching it grow. Thank you so much for reading every week and supporting me!

Signed,

Ashlyn
