Why I Wish I Didn’t Get Disney+

Why I Wish I Didn’t Get Disney+

Over the last couple days, I have seen a lot of buzz about Disney+. For those of you who don’t know, Disney+ is a streaming service that includes different kinds of Disney and Pixar movies and TV shows. When I first heard about it, I really wasn’t interested in getting it. I already have Netflix, and didn’t think I would use it. After seeing all of the hype on social media, I decided to give it a try. So, are you getting the most for your buck with Disney+? Here’s what I think.

I titled this blog “Why I Wish I Didn’t Get Disney+” because once I got it, I really liked it and couldn’t stop exploring! There is a lot more than I expected on Disney+ but before we get into that, lets get into the basics.

How much does it cost?

There are a few different types of memberships on Disney+. The most basic one is $6.99 per month. Compared to other streaming services, it’s a pretty good price. Netflix costs $8.99 per month and Hulu is $5.99 a month. So, Disney+ falls right in the middle. The second option is $12.99 a month. With this plan, you get Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. I don’t know much about ESPN+, but I found out that it is $4.99 a month. Therefore, if you use all 3 of the streaming services, the second membership option would be good for you. For me, I don’t use Hulu or ESPN+ so the option for just Disney+ worked for me. I think that the price is pretty reasonable considering the price of other streaming services similar to it.

What do I get?

I was hesitant to get this streaming service because I didn’t think that there would be a lot of options. There ended up being a lot more options than I thought there would be. You get movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Some of the movies you can watch are Avengers End Game, Frozen, Captain Marvel, High School Musical and lots of older movies like The Little Mermaid, Cinderella and The Lion King. There are also lots of TV shows on Disney+ like Lizzie McGuire, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Wizards of Waverly Place. There are also some original Disney+ movies and shows like High School Musical: The Musical, Noelle and Pixar in Real Life. They have a few original short films on the app as well. There are a lot of different options on the app and lots of movies that we love to watch over and over again. You can also create different profiles on the app like on Netflix and can also create accounts for kids.

My sister and I both have our own accounts on Disney+

Where Can I Watch?

You can watch Disney+ pretty much anywhere. You can download the app on your phone, watch on your computer and you can download the app to your TV if you have a smart TV. I have been having a little bit of an issue with watching it on my TV. It sometimes says that an error has occurred and can’t connect. I looked it up, and apparently that has been happening to a lot of people due to the large amount of people who downloaded it so soon. Disney says they are working on the issue so it should be fixed soon.

What’s Next?

One thing that I’m wondering is what is next for Disney+? A lot of the service right now is made up of older TV shows. I wonder what will be added to the app. Disney and Pixar make new movies and shows all the time, so I wonder how quickly they will be added to the app.

Overall Thoughts

I have only had Disney+ for a couple of days but so far, I like it. There’s a lot of different things to watch on the app. Being in college, most of what I watch is with streaming services like Netflix, so I always like checking out the newest ones. I think I will keep Disney+ and I recommend trying it out if you are a fan of Disney and Pixar!

I hope you liked this blog! If you did, (or know anyone who you think would like Disney+) please comment, share this blog, follow me on Instagram and sign for email notifications. As always, thank you for all your support. Happy streaming!
