Calling All 2000 Kids

Calling All 2000 Kids

In 5, 4, 3, 2……

I know, you see, somehow the world will change for me and be so wonderful.

And you can’t forget the spaghetti tacos

If you were born anywhere around 2000, you know what show I’m talking about.

ICarly!

Side note: I am still very much convinced that this show had a big influence on vlogging and youtube getting so big, but that’s just my theory.

I love writing about pop culture kinds of topics, so I wanted to talk a little bit about that today.

I don’t know about you, but I love going back and watching old shows that I watched growing up.  Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Wizards of Waverly Place, Drake and Josh, ICarly.

I can’t lie, they are still good.

Since it’s the holiday season, I have been watching way too much of the Merry Christmas Drake and Josh movie.  I think it is so entertaining, my sister is very sick of it.

Anyway, if you are on social media, you may have heard/read about a possible ICarly reboot happening.  Now, whenever I see the word “reboot,” I am not a fan, because I think of a completely different cast, which I have never really been a huge fan of.

But, reunions, I highly approve of.  I wish there could be reunions for all my old favorite shows.  For example, I am still waiting for the Friends reunion.

There isn’t much out there about exactly what an ICarly reboot would look like, except that a lot of the original cast is set to return.  It’s also been announced that Paramount Plus will be streaming the new series and it looks like it will come out some time in 2021.  Also, it seems like there are going to be numerous episodes, maybe a full season?  Hopefully!

Another thing I don’t really like about reunion shows is when there is no plot at all and it’s just the actors talking and catching up.  Don’t get me wrong, that can be entertaining too, but I think the most iconic reboot would be if it was a scripted episode and all the actors played their old characters.  Especially for a show like ICarly, it would be so cool if they all play their characters and you see where they are all these years later.

So, my final opinion on the ICarly reboot???

First, I hope that it happens because I think it would be really fun to watch for everyone who watched it growing up.

And two, if it does happen, I hope that some other shows follow suit, because I think it would be really fun for everyone to watch a new episode, or two, or ten, of our favorite shows.

To end my very first pop culture related blog, enjoy these photos of me making the famous ICarly spaghetti tacos.  They tasted pretty funny to be honest, but they made for some cute pictures!

Until next time

Signed,

Ashlyn

I totally agree and I miss them all too! And it’s so funny you say that because I feel the same way, I can’t watch any of the new shows!
